Innovation Spark is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to the advancement of STEM education throughout the Greater Houston Area. All of its staff work as unpaid volunteers, so all funds go directly to the execution of programs like Maker Faire. Innovation Spark is focused on building programs and events that drive technical learning, innovation and creativity across individuals and small teams of all ages and situations. The objective is to grow the real skills and knowledge of individuals of all ages and backgrounds through actual hands-on creative activities and projects prominently featuring current technologies and methods.
Our premier event is the Houston Maker Faire, now in its 3rd year, we are excited to be working on doing it again in 2016. Your donations and support will help us to develop and promote more programs such as this within the Houston Community.
The Houston Mini Maker Faire is one of the events Innovation Spark is organizing.
Maker Faires are a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. It’s a venue for makers to show examples of their work and interact with others about it. Many makers say they have no other place to share what they do. DIY (Do-It-Yourself) is often invisible in our communities, taking place in shops, garages and on kitchen tables. It’s typically out of the spotlight of traditional art or science or craft events. Maker Faire makes visible these projects and ideas that we don’t encounter every day.
Help support our efforts to promote and host events throughout the year by donating to our organization.
